In Search of Unicorns

Within the bravest voice there’s an insecure child.

Within the calmest gesture there’s a spirit so wild.

Within the most connected attachment there’s isolated separation.

Within the most peaceful protest there’s outraged frustration.

Within the most joyful occasion there’s an unhappy troll.

Within the most rigid heart there’s a resilient soul.

So within this or that, it’s all true.

Some more than others, some a different view.

We each have innocence proximate to a mood

So we may as well transcend instead of feud.

Arm in arm we must move forward, although we’re being swirled

So that we might recognize, again, all the unicorns of this world.
